Membership

The Association is composed of regular members, corresponding members, benefactors and honorary members.


– Regular member: any person working in public health, or health care and research residing in a Caribbean country or region and who shows an interest in sickle cell /or thalassemia;

– corresponding member: any person working in public health, or medical care and research not residing in a Caribbean country or region and who has an interest in sickle cell disease and /or thalassemia, whose membership has been approved by the board of directors;

– honorary member: any person working in public health, or medical care and research appointed honorary member on recommendation of two-thirds majority of board of directors, in recognition of exceptional contributions in the field of the hemoglobinopathies. The honorary members pay neither membership fees, nor registration fee at the events organized by the association. They are not entitled to vote;

– benefactor member: The title of benefactor member, recognized by the board of directors, is reserved to the people who will have contributed to the resources of the Association by their gifts or offerings.

All members of the Association, except the honorary members, are entitled to vote at the General Meetings.
